Just two days ago, Disney offered viewers a further glimpse into the world of Oz The Great and Powerful with the debut of the film’s second official trailer that was definitely a horse of a different color… many colors in fact.

After 74 years, the wondrous Land of Oz dons the big screen once again, however this time it does not follow the tale of Dorthy, her adorable dog Todo, and her band of misfit side kicks on their journey to meet the Wizard of Oz, instead it tells the tale of the man Dorthy and her friends travel so far and wide to meet… The Wizard of Oz, Mr. Oscar Diggs (James Franco). From his humble beginnings, his journey to Oz, to his rise to fame as the wonderful Wizard of Oz, Oz The Great and Powerful looks as though (from the trailer) it will cover all the bases of the life of the man with all the answers. While the film looks to be action-packed and extremely adventurous, a love-quadrangle between Oscar and the three witch sisters, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), may poke its head into the plot.

From the trailer it is also easy to deduce that the film will contain absolutely stunning scenery and visuals, that will transport viewers into the Land of Oz in all its glory and entrance their minds with exotic characters and creatures only a true imagination can make. Directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man Trilogy) and produced by Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland), Oz The Great and Powerful looks to be an intense yet liberating picture that has the potential to get anyone’s imagination churning.

With a competent cast and artistic crew Oz The Great and Powerful should prove to be a thrilling ride for audiences into a world held dear.

Oz The Great and Powerful hits theaters March 8, 2013, until then view the latest trailer below and share your thoughts:
