Still struggling to put that St. Patrick’s Day playlist together? Check out this list for a couple of songs it might need.
Nancy Mulligan – Ed Sheeran
Sheeran pulled some Irish influence in a few of the songs on his most recent release, and this is the best of it. Upbeat and traditional-sounding, it’s the perfect lively addition to any playlist.
Paint the Town Green – The Script
Hailing from Ireland, The Script broke international airwaves with “Breakeven” back in 2008. This song, off their 2015 album, is an entire song about celebrating St. Patrick’s Day when not in Dublin. It’s perfect for everyone with some Irish in them.
Sláinte – The Tossers
The title means “cheers” in Irish, so the rest, really, is self-explanatory.
Black Velvet Band – Dropkick Murphys
We all know “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.” Let me introduce you to this Celtic punk take on a traditional Irish tune; it’s even complete with a shoutout to the Boston suburb town Brockton.
Act My Age – One Direction
Whenever One Direction sang this on their last tour, the Irish one started Irish dancing and the stage lit up green and orange. It’s a pub song from the most unlikely of bands, and it really is for everyone who won’t grow up.
Love Like This – Kodaline
Another Irish export, Kodaline go the folksy route on this tune, complete with harmonica.
A Night In Dublin – Fiddler’s Green
Finish off your playlist with this rousing tale of a bunch of friends traveling the world. From Dublin to New York, the band hops trains, buses, and planes, and has a great time doing so.
